About the project

Media Literacy Empowered is an Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership addressing Quality assurance, New learning and teaching methods and approaches and Creativity, arts and culture. It was developed to general objective: To raise awareness about importance of media literacy among young people Specific objectives: • To develop new methodologies in youth work in the field of media literacy and combat against oppressive content in. The project uses non-formal education and international cooperation to turn these themes into practical learning, organisational development and community-level action.

Objectives

* To develop new methodologies in youth work in the field of media literacy and combat against oppressive content in media.
* To equip youth workers, teachers and educators with set of new educational tools in the field of media literacy and combat against negative effects of media content.
* To raise the awareness about ethical media coverage among young people in 3 countries.

Activities

* Beyond Borders – Italy, Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) and ASCVA – Spain will implement Media Literacy Empowered project in the period 01.05.2023-30.04.2024 through following activities:.
* . Project management and implementation.
* . Development of the guidelines.
* . Development of video tutorials.
* . Testing the new methods – international training.
* . Testing the new methods at the local level.
* . Multiplier and dissemination events.

Impact

The project will deliver guidelines for youth workers and educators on media literacy and combat against oppressive narratives using creativity to produce artistic and creative narratives. Guidelines will introduce narratives, media literacy and problem of oppressive media content. It will deliver creative tools aimed at young people in the form of video tutorials. The tutorials bring closer information on media literacy, how to recognize fake news and how to do fact checking to young people.
