About the project
Jóvenes jardineras: jardines urbanos para jóvenes is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange addressing Agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Green skills and Community development. It was developed to qualify young people as urban gardeners to create urban gardens in their own communities with theoretical and practical skills concerning Urban gardening. The project uses non-formal education and international cooperation to turn these themes into practical learning, organisational development and community-level action.
Objectives
* To qualify young people as urban gardeners to create urban gardens in their own communities with theoretical and practical skills concerning Urban gardening.
* To make young people aware about the benefits of the urban gardens in the daily life.
* To increase the young people’s skills on gardening and development of urban gardens and making them reflected concerning to issues of agricultural production in urban areas.
* To create a local impact in Alcalá la Real by including local community engage in the urban gardening process to make them benefit from this directly.
Activities
* International non-formal learning activities involving participants and partner organisations.
* Practical workshops, collaborative work and reflection connected to the project themes.
* Follow-up and dissemination activities within the participating communities.
Impact
The project will increase the skills of young people who has no experience with the agricultural product development or has no prior experience to the gardening. In that way, the young people will gain experiences both urban gardening and boost the participation of young people in the local community. The project was funded by the European Union.
