About the project

Youth work is a field which provides space and opportunities for young people to form their own futures. It has a extremely important role on encouraging young people to take initiatives and responsibilities for others towards to the issues that they find important. It as well provides a space for the young people to involve and shape the society beyond their individual interests. Youth sector is a place where most of us as youth workers working in different modalities : full time, part-time, periodical/seasonal workers or on a voluntary basis. Youth sector employs many people working as In Europe, we only find a few countries with well-established youth work policies and structures, governed by public authorities with paid youth workers, developed vocational training and higher education curricula for youth workers. Objectives

Youth work is a field which provides space and opportunities for young people to form their own futures. It has a
extremely important role on encouraging young people to take initiatives and responsibilities for others towards to
the issues that they find important. It as well provides a space for the young people to involve and shape the
society beyond their individual interests. Youth sector is a place where most of us as youth workers working in
different modalities : full time, part-time, periodical/seasonal workers or on a voluntary basis. Youth sector
employs many people working as In Europe, we only find a few countries with well-established youth work
policies and structures, governed by public authorities with paid youth workers, developed vocational training and
higher education curricula for youth workers.
Thus, the youth work practices are basically goes through a traditional approach, due to its structures and
involvement of highly grassroot mechanisms. With the increased number of youth projects through the Erasmus+
and different funding instruments, the youth organisations become one of the main element of the Civil Society
Scene though still the spirit of grassroots and amateur nature of youth work continues where there is a high need
of professionalism, standardization, and quality assurance work within the NGOs which became a necessity.
Therefore, it created a demand for professional youth workers and related studies at universities to increase the
quality of the youth work implemented in EU and its neighbouring countries.
Although, the youth organisations involved in the field are providing less range of opportunities due to their lack of
capacity and lack of strategical development issues, financial sustainability or the human resources. They are not
aware about how to extend their outreach through reaching other funding opportunities, diversifying their target
groups by implementing new activities or even by basically having a structured voluntary mechanism to cope with
the issue of the human resources. The huge competition among the NGOs in the service delivery for the youth
and in the acquisition of the donor funding is rising even though the Erasmus+ or likewise funding instruments
increased their funding due to the Covid-19, post-pandemic process to recover the power of the NGOs as it was
before the pandemic. Thus, to achieve the success in that competitive nature of the third sector, the NGOs should
evolve, continually improve and professionalise their work which puts more and more demands on the
management and leadership of an organisation.
The above-mentioned issues are highly relevant to the youth sector. Thus, the project aims to provide youth
workers with practical skills and tools to lead effectively a non-profit organisation. The main pillar of the project is
to increase the quality in youth work by developing strategies for the youth organisations involved. Secondly,
increasing the youth workers’ knowledge in strategical planning, fundraising and working with volunteers in the
field of youth work with the framework that proposed by EU as Youth Strategy between 2018-2027.
The objectives of the project are;
-To create awareness on the organizational management issues for increasing the quality of Youth Work
implement in EU and neighbouring countries
-To increase the knowledge of youth workers in strategical development of NGOs and increase the quality and
variety of youth services provided for young people in EU
-To increase the financial sustainability of NGOSs through out providing information about the funding
opportunities in and outside of Erasmus+ program
-To develop partnerships in the field of youth work

Activities
The project activity will take place between 01-08 April 2023 ( 6 full-working days – 2 travel days ) in Alcala la
Real,Spain with the participating organisations from Spain, France, Italy, Serbia, Portugal, Greece, Iceland and
Hungary with 28 participants. We planned to include 2 participant per country and we planned to include 10
young people with fewer opportunities as agencies of the target groups of the participating organizations to
increase the efficiency of the training course.
Training Course on NGOrganize – Tools for Youth Organizations ( April 2023 ) :
The planned course on CSO management will be conducted and the themes of the training course will be : CSO
Management, Strategical Development, Fundraising, Non-Formal Education and Erasmus+ and Solidarity Corps
Program.

will be given input constantly and will be working two days in these topics ) , Visits to local NGOs

Methodology of the Training Course:
The project aims to provide the youth workers with knowledge, skills and tools to implement strategical
development for the NGOs working in the field of youth. To reach the learning objectives, we will implement sets
of activities online and offline manners. Learning-methods which will be used are the proven methods previously
implemented in several training activities as well as well-known by the youth work practitioners.
Methodology of the Training Activity and Online Learning : The training activity will be based on experiential
learning, self-directed learning as well as non-formal education methodologies.
Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience, and is more narrowly defined as “learning
through reflection on doing”.Hands-on learning can be a form of experiential learning, but does not necessarily
involve students reflecting on their product. Experiential learning is distinct from rote or didactic learning, in which
the learner plays a comparatively passive role.
Self-directed learning describes a process in which individuals take the initiative, with or without the help of
others, in diagnosing their learning needs, formulating learning goals, identifying human and material resources
for learning, choosing and implementing appropriate learning.
The methodology of the training will be based on the non-formal, participatory and needs-oriented methodologies.

learning processes.
Profile of Participants :
-18-50 years old
-Involved in an NGO as project coordinator and/or youth worker or youth leader
-Previously provided counselling and/or dealt with a project as project manager and/or provided mentoring or
provide activities for the volunteers
-Motivation to partake in learning process and like to provide his/her unique experiences during the
implementation of the training course
-Has interest to increase his/her capacity to develop new projects to increase the attractiveness of and diversity of
his/her NGOs services
-Has sufficient level of English ( B1 – C1 ) to involve to the discussions and co-develop activities with the other
participants
-Have lack of capacity on funding instruments, project and volunteer management

Impact

Our project will contribute to the quality of youth work in the aspect of strategical development. As the project is
focused on increasing the capacity of the youth organisations as well as the youth workers working in the field of
youth specifically focused on the young people with fewer opportunities. Due to this reason, we expect to
contribute to the quality of the youth work. by qualifying youth workers to reach out to the young people who are
not easy to reach out and providing activities to volunteer and implement new projects will increase their
capacities. On the other hand, we internalise the aspect that the young people with fewer opportunities should
have a voice and should be work with rather than should be worked for. Therefore, we will include one young
people with fewer opportunity from each country to increase their involvement in youth projects. With that way,
the project will contribute to the development of youth work in general.
Our participants will be able to reach local youth by using local interventions i.e. projects by implementing
activities focusing on different work areas varying from culture to environmental protection. In addition, since our
participants will have new strategies in their organisations deriving from the needs of their own organisations,
they will be able to implement more coherent activities with the participants and it will create significant impact on
the implementation of new youth activities.
In addition, by informing the visual and written media in Alcala la Real as well as Jaen provience, we will share
the information of our project and provide information about the realization of such a project in Alcala la Real and
discuss the general issues of youth work. Since our participants will want to organize international activities while
working with their institutions after they return to their home countries, the new strategies will increase the quality
of their work in their communities and it will be reflected in the activities that they run internationally. These
activities will ensure that the impact planned is reached in local, regional, national and European level.
In addition to this, we will present a basic knowledge to the local, regional, national and international
organizations wishing to work in the field of youth through the development of a handbook including the
methodologies we used in online education activity and the strategies that are developed within the training
course as well as the experiences of our participants from the activity. On the other hand, as we will disseminate
this booklet in the platforms which will ensure the impact on European level that the activities that we have
implemented will inspire the youth organisations to institutionalise and increase their outreach and diversify their

opportunities that they provide to young people.
The participants of the training as the direct beneficiaries are expected to multiply the training outcomes by
implementing own projects on the topic at local or/ and international level within or outside the Erasmus+.
Consequently, an impact beyond the direct beneficiaries is expected to result mainly from the participants and
their sending organisations acting as multipliers and the follow-up activities.
The expected impact on others (indirect beneficiaries) will be:
– On the partner organisations of the training through the achieved knowledge and learned tools of their
representatives in the project, which can be transferred to other members in the organisations by implementing
training activities or meetings internally
– On young people and communities in which the partner organisations work by organising new activities focusing
the needs of their organisations and their beneficiaries
– On young people and communities in which the partner organisations work by implementing the planned
follow-up projects
– On other organisations or youth workers and activists that will participate in the follow-up projects
– On other organisations, communities or youth workers that will receive the training and monitoring and
evaluation reports and get methods and tools at hand for own training programmes and new interventions
In European level, more cooperation and partnership is desired which might include the following features:
– exchange of practices for mutual learning and synergy development through the implementation of quality youth
work activities
– joint cooperation project to add an European dimension to the work of the stakeholders
– exchange of organisation staff for further qualification and education in the field of youth
To ensure that this impact is reached and evaluated, we will be in contact for 6 months period after the
implementation of the activity to be able to evaluate and understand the outcomes of the project is used by other
