About the project

AI Unlocked is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange addressing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data usage, Digital skills and competences and Democracy and inclusive democratic participation. It was developed to with “AI Unlocked”, we aim to respond to a growing gap observed in youth work practice: while artificial intelligence is rapidly shaping education, employment, and participation in society, many young people-especially those with. The project uses non-formal education and international cooperation to turn these themes into practical learning, organisational development and community-level action.

Objectives

* With “AI Unlocked”, we aim to respond to a growing gap observed in youth work practice: while artificial intelligence is rapidly shaping education, employment, and participation in society, many young people-especially those with fewer opportunities-remain excluded from understanding how AI works, how it affects their daily lives, and how they can engage with it critically and responsibly.
* From the perspective of youth work practice, the project aims to empower young people through non-formal education by providing them with accessible, entry-level competences related to artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and critical thinking.

Activities

* International non-formal learning activities involving participants and partner organisations.
* Practical workshops, collaborative work and reflection connected to the project themes.
* Follow-up and dissemination activities within the participating communities.

Impact

Through the implementation of “AI Unlocked”, we expect the project to generate clear learning results for participants and a wider positive impact on their local communities and youth work practice. At participant level, the project will result in increased understanding of basic artificial intelligence concepts and their everyday applications, allowing young people to better comprehend how digital technologies influence information, communication, and decision-making. Participants will strengthen their critical thinking skills, particularly in relation to online content, algorithmic influence, and responsible digital behaviour. As a result of the non-formal, hands-on approach, participants-especially those with fewer opportunities-will gain greater digital confidence, self-efficacy, and motivation to engage actively with digital tools rather than use them passively.
