Objectives
ARTivistic comes from a combination of Activistic and Art. Activist defined as a person who set out to perform an action or effect a change. Our project wanted to effect change by branding youth workers as artivists and change makers to address the social issues facing society today. To do so and to boost creativity, we have used the divergent thinking methodology to promote innovative thinking. We have addressed the issues that are ongoing in the post-covid era.
We implemented this project to raise awareness by addressing cross-cutting issues such as social peace, poverty, unemployment, and domestic violence raised during Covid-19 through art. The project worked directly with youth and youth workers who are involved in the arts. The training activity increased the skills and knowledge of youth workers working in the field of arts and trained them to work with youth in their own communities. Needs of youth workers to be qualified to work with art tools were met during the project and the project promoted the usage of art in youth work in high manner through out the developed tools within the ARTivistic Toolbox.
The main aim of the project was increasing awareness by addressing the cross-cutting issues such as social peace, poverty, unemployment, domestic violence raised during the Covid- 19 through art and creativity. The project directly worked with young people and youth workers who are involved in art. The training activity increased the skills and knowledge of the youth workers working in the field of art and qualify them to work with young people in their own communities.
The specific objectives of the project:
-To qualify youth workers with the tools of art and divergent thinking methodology and make them change-makers within their communities to create awareness
-To create an awareness among young people about the issues of EU during the Covid-19
-To mainstream the usage of art as a tool of expression among young people
-To create a toolbox for youth workers to use divergent thinking methodology in the art to address the social issues
We have achieved the objectives throughout the implementation of the activities as well as the additional activities to promote and increase the visibility of the project.
Activities
The project activities were consisted of three transnational meetings :
1)Kick-Off Meeting in Ula,Turkey with 12 participants ( 29 – 31 October 2021 )
2)Mid-Term Meeting in Setubal,Portugal with 10 participants ( 24-27 February 2022 )
3)Evaluation Meeting in Reykjavík,Iceland with 6 participants ( 14-17 October 2022 )
The project consisted of development of comprehensive intellectual output in between July 2021 – March 2022.
We have implemented one training activity ( ARTivistic Training for Youth Workers ) in 11-17 of April 2022 with the involvement of 24 people.
ARTivistic Workshops ( 4 multiplier events ) in accordingly to the following dates in each country in each country there have been 20-36 people involved to these workshops :
1) 23-26 June 2022 / Spain
2) 09-11 July 2022 / Portugal
3) 21-23 June 2022 / Iceland
4) 15-18 June 2022 / Turkey
International Festival in Alcala la Real, Spain between 14-17 July 2022 with the involvement of 50 people ( 15 foreigner and 35 Spanish ) to promote the project outputs and increase the visibility of Erasmus+ and project.
Impact
As a result of the project, ARTivistic Toolbox – Methods and Open Space for Art was designed and published as book in PDF and website format ( toolbox-artivistic.verdesur.org ) which both can be reached from the Erasmus+ Dissemination and Results Platform. The toolbox consisted of theoretical background about artistic experiences and its usage in non-formal education along with the methods developed by the partner organisations to create an awareness about the social issues such as social peace, poverty, unemployment and domestic violence which raised during the Covid-19 time.
Moreover, during the implementation period of the project we have qualified 24 youth workers which increased the capacities of more than 150 people through their involvement to the training, international and national workshops. They have gained skills and knowledge on the implementation of the artistic tools to address the social issues and they will gain experience on this regard. The capacities of the organizations involved in the project increased and they become more involved in another projects in international contexts and will widen their perspectives.
