About the project

Building Peace through Videography is a project for mainstreaming peace among young people and increasing both their capacities for usage of videography and creating awareness about both war and the implications of violence in the communities. We have implemented a previous project on the issue of peace and during the development of our current KA2 project output, we have realised the power of the videography, documentary and short movies and we would like to use it to promote the peace in Europe through local and international actions in the uncertain times to promote resilence within the communities. We believe that the war would never happen to us in Europe and it is just continuing for several months in our door step within the European continent in Ukraine. We believe that promoting peace through peace building

Objectives

Building Peace through Videography is a project for mainstreaming peace among young people and increasing
both their capacities for usage of videography and creating awareness about both war and the implications of
violence in the communities. We have implemented a previous project on the issue of peace and during the
development of our current KA2 project output, we have realised the power of the videography, documentary and
short movies and we would like to use it to promote the peace in Europe through local and international actions in
the uncertain times to promote resilence within the communities.
We believe that the war would never happen to us in Europe and it is just continuing for several months in our
door step within the European continent in Ukraine. We believe that promoting peace through peace building

Activities

, showing solidarity between the nations. Thus, we want to promote the peace among the European
youth while supporting and showing solidarity with Ukraine. The project will develop several videographs about
the war, peace and its effect on young people, children and communities and these short movies will be shot by
the young people together after writing the plots.
The project will directly work with young people who are willing to promote the peace and they will develop their
short-movies and they will shoot them with the help of the facilitators. Videos and the movies are often used as a
tool for change and we believe that the young people can make changes through using short-movie tools and
developing their own plots about what they understand from peace and promote peace.
By implementing this project, we aim to increase the skills of young people concerning videography, peace and
non-violence and promote the peace during the times of war that we are facing. During the project, the
participants will go through three stages : understanding the concept of peace, non-violence and screen-writing
and developing a short-movie. Moreover, the participants will interact with their own communities as well as the
Spanish community as one day they will implement interviews with the local people in Spanish and make videos
with subtitles to show how the Spanish people reacts and how they think about peace and war in Ukraine. That
will as well promote awareness on peace in local community and the local people will become aware about the
issues in front of peace in Europe.
In the end of the project, we will develop a Youtube,TikTok and Instagram channel with the movies and interviews
that the participants have done and we will implement a movie screening in Youth Centre of Alcala la Real. Our
project deals with two issues by implementing this actions, making the people aware about the situation in
Ukraine and its affects on Europe and how the European people reacts to it while increasing the capacities of
young people in the field of Videography and Cinema.
With the project we will cover three different themes : peace, participation and solidarity with Ukraine. While
covering this themes, we will use the videography as a tool and promote and foster the creativity of young people
who are developing videos to raise their concerns or simply to promote their ideas everyday through the social
media tools such as TikTok, Youtube and Instagram.
The specific objectives of the project:
– To increase the capacities of young people with videography tools to promote peace
– To create an awareness on the war in Ukraine and promote awareness on the issues of peace in Europe

Impact
The young people will work on the theme of peace, which is the most relevant issue today due to the war in
Ukraine, as well as the problems of social peace that exist throughout Europe due to discrimination, exclusion
and economic obstacles. Therefore, the project will give young people the opportunity to develop their own
voices/images through the videography tool to discuss the problems of concern in Europe, such as the war in
Ukraine, as well as the problems of social peace.
The youth exchange will create a direct impact on the youth who have been involved as they will develop their
own videos and gain skills to develop new ones after their return. Furthermore, the videos/short films they
develop will promote peace and raise awareness of peace issues in general through multiplication of their results.
The youth exchange activity will give them an understanding of the use of videography to promote social issues
and how to show these issues through a camera lens in practical and theoretical ways. In addition to that, young
people will be able to use the tools they have developed and the results of the project, since the short films will be
available after the implementation of the project on open resources such as the project’s YouTube and TikTok
channels. Thus, young people will benefit not only during the implementation of activities, but also after the
project for a long time.
The project will also help the participants to develop new projects as well as new small activities within it. During
the implementation of the project, we will inform the participants about the Erasmus+ program and how to
develop Erasmus+ projects that will help them create new project ideas using the knowledge they have gained
during the project. In addition, the project will benefit the young participants by raising awareness of the problems
of social peace and war in Ukraine and they will be able to tell stories and raise their voices through the newly
developed short films/videos during the project. The project will encourage your creativity, intercultural dialogue
and intercultural awareness.
Local video interviews on the situation in Ukraine will be held with the local community in Alcalá la Real, the
participants will work with the local community and learn their perception on the situation in Ukraine from the
Spanish perspective and show solidarity with Ukraine. That would be the practice part for the participants before
developing short films. During this activity, the participants will become more familiar with the local Spanish
community and their knowledge about Spain and the Spanish people will positively increase. In addition to that,
the young people of our local will benefit directly from this activity by interacting with their peers from different
countries.
On the last day of the project, the participants will implement a film screening to be held in the Youth Building and
we will invite the local people and show the short films that the youth have developed. With this activity, the youth
will learn how to do film screenings with their own communities and will do the same screening in their own
countries after their return and will create a lasting impact of the project.
In addition to that, the participants will develop new knowledge and skills related to peace and social issues. The
project will help them raise their voices by using video to promote the issues in their own communities. They will
also become aware of the obstacles of the Ukrainian refugees as we plan to include 4 young Ukrainian refugees
who are beneficiaries of our organization and learn directly from them how the war affected their lives and how
peace is really important. In this way, the participants will learn about the importance of peace and social peace in
