Orquesta Basura – Música por Reutiliza

About the project

Orquesta Basura – Música por Reutiliza is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange addressing Green skills, Environment and climate change and Creativity, arts and culture. It was developed to increase the awareness of young people as well as the local community through using the universal tool as music. The project uses non-formal education and international cooperation to turn these themes into practical learning, organisational development and community-level action.

Objectives

* To increase the capacities of young people with music to promote reuse and environmental awareness.
* To make the young people develop green skills for using the waste for reuse, repair and recycle.
* To create an awareness on the issues of waste in European communities through both face to face activities and the music concert.
* To qualify young people as handcrafter through making them develop their own instruments.
* To create a local impact in Alcalá la Real and making the local community aware about the issues of waste disposal through their dialogue with the young participants as well as making them engage to music development process.
* To increase the competences of young people and youth organisations for developing their abilities to implement recycling workshops and make them aware about the issues concerning envorienment.

Activities

* Implementation of an international learning activity involving the participating organisations.
* Non-formal workshops, collaborative tasks, practical exercises and structured reflection connected to the project themes.
* Local follow-up, dissemination and transfer activities led by participants and partner organisations.

Impact

The young people will work on the climate change and environmental issues which is highly relevant as the waste that we produce surpass the limit that cannot be stored anymore. The project will create an impact on the young people in a huge manner that they can use the waste that they have in their homes from electronic devices to the organic waste to develop music instruments. Thus, the project will give an aspect to the young people to use the music as an awareness raising tool moreover, they will become able to use the trash to produce new equipments such music instruments after experiencing during the youth exchange. The youth exchange will create a direct impact on the young people as they will become more aware about the re-use aspect of the waste and they will gain skills to initiate such workshops and activities in their own countries after their return.
