Rainbow the Future! Training Course & Seminar in LGBTQI+ Awareness in Youthwork
15.04.2024 / 14.10.2025

Because of the growing popularity of populist, right-wing movements, as well as more misleading information, destructive propaganda, and hate speech directed at these diverse minorities, the safety and well-being of LGBTQI+ communities in Europe are once again under threat. We are profoundly concerned about the current situation, as well as populist movements in society and politics that seek to undermine European principles of integration, solidarity, and tolerance for individuals in need of equal rights and safety Therefore we have decided to create a project and space which will in an educational and transformative way approach the matter of LGBTQI+ awareness in youthwork.

Aim of the project:
To equip 25 young youth workers from diverse backgrounds working with LGBTQI+ people or willing to incorporate LGBTQI+ awareness in their work with tools of inclusive language, trauma-informed youthwork, building safe spaces, conflict transformation, NVC, active listening, media literacy and action planning and to explore topics of the reality of LGBTQI+ communities in different countries in order to address European and regional tensions around stigmatization of LGBTQI+ youth and to plan at least 7 follow-up transformative actions.
We also want to create spaces for young people to meet with various local stakeholders and work together to shape solidarity and peaceful societies. Stakeholders such as policymakers, schools, and various civil society organizations are viewed as potential changemakers, whom we hope to encourage by sharing project best practices and guidelines, particularly in the development of narratives and laws. There is a need to involve young people in addressing existing LGBTQI+ rights issues. With this project, we hope to establish spaces where young people may sense ownership over the design of their local communities, as well as areas where youth workers can feel empowered to inspire others.

Let’s get down to Eco-business
02.12.2024 / 01.06.2025

The green idea is incorporated into this youth exchange program, named “Let’s get down to Eco-business“, in keeping with the global trend toward sustainable business models. The program equips participants with critical thinking and innovative entrepreneurial skills, which are essential for addressing environmental issues. Empowering young green entrepreneurs can lead to the creation of environmentally sustainable jobs and promote economic growth, as per studies on the economic impact of green initiatives. It provides youth with the means to start their own environmentally conscious companies and improve the economy and environment. Ultimately, this program plays a critical role in preparing the next generation for a resilient and sustainable future during uncertain economic times and challenging environmental conditions.
The primary objective of the project is to unite young individuals passionate about green entrepreneurship, innovation and community betterment. Our focus is on empowering these youth to put their innovative ideas into viable business proposals. Through workshops and various activities, participants will enhance their digital competence, acquiring more effective production, marketing, and sales skills. YE strives to create a space for sharing knowledge, experiences, and ideas related to green entrepreneurship among individuals with diverse backgrounds but a shared ambition for business success. Through informal and non-formal teaching methods, the project promotes a mindset of continuous learning. By providing resources, we aim to equip young entrepreneurs to contribute to economic development and elevate employment standards in their countries. Participants will be encouraged to view business not only as a means to generate profit but also as a tool for enhancing society, the environment, and the economy. Collaboratively, participants will craft their own vision and mission statements, outlining how their business concepts can benefit various social groups.
Our objectives extend beyond conventional skills, emphasizing the development of soft communication skills, “outside-the-box thinking,” practical application of customer behavior theories, and the incorporation of social values in business. Recognizing that global entrepreneurship involves interacting with diverse cultures, participants will gain practical experience in leadership, teamwork, and cooperation in a multicultural environment.

Mobility of young people

Paint your fEUture
01.01.2025 / 31.07.2026

Our primary goal is to raise awareness among the participants about this issue, helping them recognize that the problem is real, even if disguised as a “search for sociality.” In reality, it often reflects a desperate search for validation and acceptance, which leads to vulnerability and exposure to hate. For this project, Michele, Mihnea, and Thiago wanted to introduce an added value compared to the previous project, using visual art—specifically drawing, photography, and digital graphics—to convey messages of hope and inner peace. Visual art fosters concentration and mindfulness, offering a positive distraction from daily stressors, reducing exposure to virtual discrimination, and improving media literacy.

The specific objectives of the project are:

Raising awareness among young people about mental health, combating cyberbullying, hate speech, and media illiteracy;
Promoting active citizenship;
Strengthening participants’ and local youth’s soft skills, especially those with fewer opportunities, such as language, digital skills, project coordination, and awareness campaign promotion;
Actively involving participants in follow-up activities within their local communities;
Supporting youth work at both local and international levels, strengthening the network of participating organizations;
Promoting social inclusion and solidarity values;
Increasing European mobility opportunities, particularly for marginalized youth.

The general objective of the project, in alignment with the Erasmus+ Programme’s goals and the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027, is to support the educational and personal development of participants in non-formal education. This contributes to their growth and facilitates their social and civic engagement upon returning to their communities, encouraging them to act actively within the societies in which they live.

MAD about EU - Music To Accept Diversity
21.02.2024 / 20.05.2025

The goal is to promote positive and inclusive social values in youth society, as well as art and music as a valid response to discrimination. This project will promote the value of combating discrimination and music as a vehicle tool.
The original idea of this project stems from the participation of many of us in some YEs within the E+ Program, during which we had the opportunity to get to know other young people from local associations in different countries with whom we befriended. Discussing with them the problem of discrimination affecting minorities in our respective countries and the causes behind it, we decided to strengthen our partnership at an international level by embracing the values of the EU.

Hence, the title of the project “M.A.D. about EU – Music to Accept Diversity.” We chose this title first of all because we are crazy about the EU after the YEs we participated in, then because the acronym is very incisive with respect to the message we want to send with this project.
Reflecting with our partners, we decided that the project mobility will take place from June 3 to June 8, 2024 in Orta Nova.
Through the project, we aim to achieve the following goals:

– Promote active participation in society and inclusion of all young people;
– To help and support young people in acquiring skills and values that are important for the development of a democratic society;
– Promote the principles of Erasmus+: tolerance, respect for other cultures, respect for human rights;
– promote values and knowledge about the European Union and YouthPass skills;
– use art, music and media as means to achieve positive social goals;
– promote music as a means of raising awareness of social issues;
– develop young people’s motivation and sense of responsibility for mutual understanding and the fight against discrimination and exclusion globally;
– stimulate young people’s sense of initiative;
– create a new song that unites the different cultures and backgrounds of all participants; promote it to combat discrimination and social exclusion and promote inclusion and diversity as values.

The project will follow a non-formal methodology through workshops, discussions, group work, brainstorming, presentations, while also offering art and music workshops in our recording studio and rehearsal room in order to promote other modes of learning, peer cooperation and cross-cultural learning.

EU Food Traditions
01.01.2024 / 30.06.2025

After our first experience with our Youth Exchange “Innovative Traditions”, the title of our second project is “EU Food Traditions”, which comes from the need of our association and partner associations to bring young people closer to a healthy lifestyle through the discovery of culinary traditions and typical meals from various European countries, promoting dialogue between cultures and facilitating intercultural learning, communication and inspiration for a healthy way of life. We want to realise this second project in order to continue working on the theme of traditions to counteract their abandonment. The added value of our project, compared to the previous one, is to allow the participants to explore in more detail the issue of the abandonment of traditions by involving the specific culinary traditions of the countries involved in the project. The Youth Exchange project will offer participants the opportunity to experience and explore other cultures and traditions through the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Our main aim and that of our project partners is to provide young people with new skills to promote a balanced and healthy diet through the rediscovery of traditions, preparing them to become promoters of sustainable food well-being. We want to encourage them to think deeply and consciously about food and various culinary traditions in an intercultural context, creating an environment where dialogue between peers from different cultures can flourish and enrich their perspectives. Indeed, food is the main vehicle through which we can explore other cultures, embrace diversity, and deepen our understanding not only from a culinary perspective, but also from the perspective of overall health and well-being. This approach aims to mould a new generation of conscious individuals, capable of appreciating and respecting the riches of cultural and dietary diversity by changing their habits by making them reflect on the foods we consume that often do not provide all the necessary vitamins and nutrients, being full of chemical additives and preservatives. This is even more relevant in our times, characterised by extraordinary advances in science and medicine, where we are able to fully understand the importance of proper nutrition for our general well-being.

DocuPeace Training Course: A New Way to Peacebuilding through Documentary Filmmaking
08.10.2023 / 07.01.2025

Objectives

We aim to equip youth workers with knowledge, competencies, and practical experience in alternative tools that can be used in peace-building processes and peace education in conflict regions. We believe that filmmaking, specifically documentary-making tools are extremely effective in the process of peace education and peace-building. It allows bringing a new perspective to conflict-affected regions by i.e. demonstrating the voices of the sides of the conflict. We believe that filmmaking brings advocacy to the marginalized and oppressed groups of society whose voices are unheard. The visual tool also allows for demonstrating conflicts and peace in a way that acknowledges and demonstrates a wide range of patterns, backgrounds, issues, and personalities and most importantly it allows the inclusion of fuller stories.

For this, the project will work to contribute to the development of youth work by providing an opportunity for youth workers to engage in non-formal learning and creative expression through the production of a documentary film, increase their skills concerning videography, peace, and non-violence and foster peace during the times of war that we are facing. Accordingly objectives and needs of this project are:

-To foster the skill development and the active citizenship of youth workers through documentary filmmaking as a non-formal tool for making them changemakers to create awareness on the issues that they define as important and to foster peace through documentaries
-To equip youth workers with knowledge and skills of concepts to be acquainted for a peaceful conflict resolution such as non-violent communication skills, the culture of peace and peacebuilding, human rights
-To develop participants’ competencies on practical 101 tools in documentary filmmaking, particularly sensitive approach to the documentary character, and familiarize with the process of pre-production, production and postproduction
-To facilitate the process of designing at least 3 documentary projects with synopsis, recording a series of 5 interviews with activists and designing 4 follow-up documentary script ideas to be implemented in the partner countries that will multiply the participant’s project-related skills

Youth mobility

Agriculture is our culture
01.01.2021 / 30.09.2022

Youth mobility

PlasticArt
01.10.2020 / 30.09.2022

The Youth Exchange was the most important and main activity that took place during this project. We carried out this project, with the following idea, because through non-formal education, experience and simulation activities and practical activities and creativity, we wanted to influence the young participants of the Youth Exchange, making them understand the impact of using the plastic in the world. Participants and partners, as well as people who were directly and indirectly involved in the project, learned important notions about the use of plastic and its waste and understood the importance of cooperation, the use of creativity for arrive at a solution to the problem, and increase their awareness of the environment. Therefore, the main objective of our project was to reduce the use of plastic bags and bottles, continuing our work started with our previous project “DIY, Plastic Goodbye”, given the success of this project and the positive impact that we have been able to produce.
The young participants experienced the importance of the European Erasmus + Program, and saw how much the European Union supports the initiatives of young people for education and environmental protection. The people we were in contact with during the project represented a small part of society they might encounter during their lifetime.
We young people of the informal group “Explore the World” have environmental issues at heart, but at the same time we are committed to creating awareness of global goals: humanitarianism, volunteering, tolerance.
One of the objectives of this project was to continue our collaborations with our local and international partners.
Furthermore, our informal group is in the process of setting up a voluntary association. We are formally registering, in a short time we will have a venue for our meetings and our work. Our goal is also to create a meeting point for the young people of our local community in Puglia.
The objectives of this project and the learning objectives we have achieved are:
– activate young people to protect the environment;
– create awareness of the harm of the use of plastic bottles, looking for solutions to this problem;
– promote creativity as a tool for protecting the environment;
– improve young people’s level of creative skills;
– raise awareness among young people on intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity;
– increase the level of key competences of young people certified Youthpass;
– promote intercultural learning and global goals through non-formal education;

01.01.2023 / 31.12.2023

The project directly worked with young people who are willing to promote the peace and they developed their short-movies and they shot them with the help of the facilitators. Videos and the movies are often used as a tool for change and we believe that the young people can make changes through using short-movie tools and developing their own plots about what they understand from peace and promote peace.

By implementing this project, we aimed to increase the skills of young people concerning videography, peace and non-violence and promote the peace during the times of war that we are facing. During the project, the participants went through three stages : understanding the concept of peace, non-violence and screen-writing and developing a short-movie. Moreover, the participants interacted with their own communities as well as the Spanish community as one day they implemented interviews with the local people in Spanish and make videos with subtitles to show how the Spanish people reacts and how they think about peace and war in Ukraine. That as well promoted awareness on peace in local community and the local people became aware about the issues in front of peace in Europe.

In the end of the project, we have streamed the videos in our Youtube and Instagram channels that the participants have done and we have implemented a movie screening in Youth Centre of Alcala la Real. Our project dealt with two issues by implementing this actions, making the people aware about the situation in Ukraine and its affects on Europe and how the European people reacts to it while increasing the capacities of young people in the field of Videography and Cinema.

Dijital Dünyanın Bilinçli Gençleri
01.09.2021 / 31.08.2023

Bu amaç doğrultusunda 6 ana hedefimiz vardı. Bunlar;
– EoG’i spora katılımları doğrultusunda teşvik etmek, öz güvenlerini arttırmak

– la promozione del potenziale di occupazione e di lavoro autonomo dei giovani attraverso il rafforzamento della capacità innovativa, la creazione di start-up di imprese e l’innovazione aperta;
– lo sviluppo di modelli innovativi per la collaborazione reciproca nel campo dell’imprenditorialità;
– la sensibilizzazione dei giovani sulle tradizioni e gli antichi mestieri e su quanto possano essere importanti per creare soluzioni innovative per l’imprenditorialità;
– motivare i giovani a intraprendere e utilizzare l’imprenditorialità sociale come forza per il cambiamento sociale;
– il miglioramento delle competenze imprenditoriali dei giovani;
– la condivisione ed il miglioramento di idee, esperienze e aree di interesse comune nei contesti interculturali;
– la promozione del programma Erasmus+ per identificare le attuali risorse per i giovani imprenditori;

Community-Based Empowerment Strategies for Youth Workers
01.05.2020 / 31.12.2021

Youth empowerment examines six interdependent dimensions: psychological, community, organizational, economic, social and cultural. Psychological empowerment improves individual awareness, awareness and knowledge of problems and solutions and how individuals can address problems that impair their quality of life. This dimension aims to create self-confidence and give young people the skills to acquire knowledge. Community empowerment focuses on improving the community through leadership development and the creation of a support network to mobilize the community to address concerns. Organizational empowerment aims to create a resource base for a community, including voluntary organizations that aim to protect, promote and defend the less favored. Economic empowerment teaches business skills, how to take ownership of your assets and how to have income security. Social empowerment teaches young people about social inclusion and literacy. Cultural empowerment aims to recreate cultural practices and redefine cultural rules and norms for young people. Through these dimensions of empowerment, programs can work to empower young people in one or more aspects of their lives.

Within this project, we want to focus on these six dimensions and integrate young people into the communities in the participating countries by increasing the capacities of youth workers to make young people act independently within their communities by using from the media of their social networks. The project proposal aims to increase the skills of youth workers to develop empowerment programs, as well as make them use the 6 empowerment pillars mentioned above to increase the participation of young people in their daily work.

Music for Peace
01.05.2020 / 31.12.2021

The antecedent of the project was the conflicts in the Middle East and the Mediterranean and the tensions of nationalism, xenophobia and racism in many countries of the European Union. Recently, the emergence of governments that have driven extreme racism and xenophobia such as Leganord in Italy and Fidesz in Hungary have damaged both cultural diversity and social peace throughout Europe with the slogan “Unity in diversity” in long term. In addition to the increase in discriminatory discourses towards refugees in general in our country also played a role in damaging the social peace. Previous examples showed the importance of the youth field in issues such as peace building, conflict transformation, human rights education and the fight against discrimination.
As indicated above, we have developed a mutual learning place dedicated to conflict resolution and peace building and use non-violent actions as a tool in international and local youth work in this context. We have worked on increasing the skills and knowledge of young people concerning conflict resolution, peace building and non-violent actions.

The objectives of the project were
1. To learn effective methods on conflict prevention and transformation by encouraging young people with creativity and participation.
2. To share youth practices, conflicts, experiences and interreligious and intercultural practices.
3. To raise awareness among participants about the use of tools that contribute to the development of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
4. To raise awareness about risk factors in environments where conflicts such as multiculturalism may occur,
5. To examine the issue of conflict in a broader dimension in the framework of Human Rights.
6. To facilitate cooperation and networking among participants.
7. To develop the skills of the participants in the field of music and demonstrate their use in the field of peace.

Partnerships for Creativity

ARTivistic : Artistic Approaches to Solidarity, Inclusion and Creativity in Europe
01.03.2021 / 30.11.2022

ARTivistic comes from a combination of Activistic and Art. Activist defined as a person who set out to perform an action or effect a change. Our project wanted to effect change by branding youth workers as artivists and change makers to address the social issues facing society today. To do so and to boost creativity, we have used the divergent thinking methodology to promote innovative thinking. We have addressed the issues that are ongoing in the post-covid era.

We implemented this project to raise awareness by addressing cross-cutting issues such as social peace, poverty, unemployment, and domestic violence raised during Covid-19 through art. The project worked directly with youth and youth workers who are involved in the arts. The training activity increased the skills and knowledge of youth workers working in the field of arts and trained them to work with youth in their own communities. Needs of youth workers to be qualified to work with art tools were met during the project and the project promoted the usage of art in youth work in high manner through out the developed tools within the ARTivistic Toolbox.

Mobility of young people

Improv por la Paz
01.06.2023 / 31.12.2024

In its broadest sense, theatre has focused on storytelling, commemoration, social learning, and, more recently, commercial entertainment. Within its form, theatre has the potential to capture and recreate cultures and conflict through the imaginations of participants. Regardless of the form or venue, theatre consistently involves actors, those who enact intention as performance, and audience, those who witness the development of these enactments. Therefore, the use of theatre for the peace building process gives young people a space to express their feelings and thoughts directly in a critical way. The project focuses on creating an awareness about the social peace issues in Europe through making the young people improvise and use theatre as a tool. Thus, to use the theatre for the peace building purposes with young people provides a space to express their feelings and thoughts directly.

With the project we aim to develop skills of young people to increase their skills to express themselves in non-violent ways through out the usage of the theatre as a tool while creating awareness about the social peace issues in Europe. The participants will work on the issues that they will see important in their own communities and enact these situations by using the Forum Theatre methodology.

During the project, we plan to cover the themes related to peace : radicalisation, racism and discrimination and conflict management through the usage of theatre tools based on Forum Theatre Methodology of Augusto Boal. While covering these themes, the participants will develop their own theatre peace and will present to the local community, we will do that in English and invite people from local community to engage in this activity. The young people from our volunteer will provide translation to the audience through caption translation to Spanish from English. In that way, both our local area and young people will experience the interculturality of our world and the issues in front of peace and it will create an awareness.

Orquesta Basura - Música por Reutiliza
01.06.2023 / 31.12.2024

The project idea comes from the initiative called “Orquesta de Instrumentos Reciclados de Cateura” in Paraguay and “Orquesta Basura” in Mexico who use the scrap materials from the landfill and urban waste to make instruments with children and young people and creates music pieces. Our main aim is to create this experience in European level while creating an awareness on the local community and European level about the environmental awareness and waste management. Thus, the project will contribute to the awareness raising on these issues as well as the recycling and reusing the products which are considered as waste and create an awareness on this aspect as well.

By implementing this project, we aim to increase the awareness of young people as well as the local community through using the universal tool as music. The idea that the participants will co-develop and co-produce new music instruments through the collected garbage from the households in our town and one of the most frequent hiking path in our town. After the collected garbage they will produce musical instruments with the help of our facilitators and they will implement a concert by using these musical instruments. In that sense, the project will create both local awareness on the recycling and disposal of waste and the participants.

Mobility of youth workers

01.06.2023 / 31.12.2024

The purpose of youth work is to facilitate and support young people’s growth through dependence to interdependence, by encouraging their personal and social development and enabling them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society.Ethics is generally regarded as being about the norms of behaviour people follow regarding what is good or bad, right or wrong. Usually ethical issues are about matters of human (and animal) wellbeing or welfare. Although, ethical youth work practice is often defined through a set of ethical “standards” encompassing ethical principles and values, specific rules and policies, and moral qualities, dispositions and competences (Banks,2000).

Within this training course, we will increase the competences and knowledge of the youth workers on the issue of ethics in youth work and make them aware about the ethical questions and the code of conduct and value development for the organisations. We will deal with the case studies from Europe and try to understand and analyse these case studies to increase the knowledge and awareness of youth workers in the field of ethics and its usage in youth work.

Within this training course, we will make the youth workers to reflect about the ethical issues int heir daily work through a set of virtual and face to face activities. We will increase the capacities of youth workers to conduct their work and develop ethical practices which are about building trust by role-modelling ethical behaviour, and applying principles and values consistently in decision-making. According to our research in Erasmus+ Results Platform focusing on the ethic of youth work, there has been no similar projects targeting the youth workers by making them discuss the ethical issues from both theory and practices. Therefore, the project will fill this gap in the youth work as an initiation to develop new activities and practices and reflect upon the our previous projects as partners.

Youth mobility

Deliberative Democracy in Youth Work
01.01.2021 / 31.12.2022

Participation is in continuous formal change, moving from conventional forms to unconventional forms, and the need for youth participation is key, since youth is more in favor of choosing unconventional forms of participation and speaking out on issues that they consider important in the current era within society. Furthermore, due to the main tools of social media and Internet technology used by young people, participation is changing its dimension and young people are moving away from the usual participation practices, and every day the participation of young people is decreasing. voters in elections in the EU and around the world, which is irrefutable proof of this movement of political absenteeism. One example of this voter turnout was that it never exceeded the 61.99 percent recorded in the 1979 EU elections, and voter turnout decreased in all subsequent elections to reach the low of 42 , 61 percent in 2014. Furthermore, there is an enormous benefit to both parties, allowing young people to be responsible for decision making; by including young people in decision-making processes. Young people are the owners of their own lives and their own needs and can bring unique perspectives during the formation of policies related to this same youth. Therefore, meaningful youth participation in local governments can enable decision makers to make wise decisions using information, ideas and solutions provided by youth that may not have been seen or considered before.
 The specific objectives of the project was:
– Increase the knowledge of youth workers about participatory methodologies and unconventional forms of youth participation;
– Increase dialogue and develop synergies on democratic principles and mechanisms in the EU and participating countries;
– Promote participatory democratic mechanisms among young people;
– Train youth workers to transfer knowledge in the field of democracy and participation
– Involve youth by promoting different forms of participation through local events developed during the project;
– Develop associations in the youth field to promote democracy and youth participation.

Mobility of youth workers

Formación de Formadores en Herramientas ARTísticas para Trabajadores Juveniles
01.06.2023 / 31.12.2024

When young people are given opportunity to experiment with a range of art forms self-esteem, together with individual and societal wellbeing, can be enhanced. When such artistic and cultural activities take place in a community rather than a formal education setting there is very considerable potential to build local social networks. Social capital not only improves local relationships for the individual young people participating but also benefits the local area more widely. It is therefore critical that we do everything we can to unleash the full creative and artistic potential of our young people. Not surprisingly, given the centrality of self-discovery and self-expression to artistic practice, research also finds that community youth arts programs help young people develop self-confidence, self-efficacy, and self-awareness ; and the ability to self-regulate and express emotions. Therefore, there is a need to qualify the youth workers to increase the young people’s skills through the art and promote their well-being while making them more included and welcomed in the community.
Communities with under-served and at-risk youth will very often have the least resources to provide quality art programmes, yet studies show that these youth are the most likely to
benefit from exposure to the arts. A 2012 study, ‘The Arts and Achievement in At-Risk Youth: Findings from Four Longitudinal Studies’, shows that teenagers and young adults of low socio-economic status, who are involved in youth arts activities, are more civically engaged, have better academic results, higher career goals, and better work opportunities.Therefore, making the art a reality of every youth and boost their creativity will increase their participation and involvement to the society.

This project will benefit from the outputs of our two projects : ARTivistic : Artistic Approaches to Solidarity, Inclusion and Creativity in Europe that we have finalised in 2022 and Inclusive Photography for Youth – Tools for Youth Workers to Engage Young People with Photography that we have started to run this year. In addition to that “El Acto Creativo” and “Dibujando Realidades” Local Solidarity Projects have been the main starting point of this training course to increase the capacities of the organisations about the usage of art which we have the expertise on. During these projects, we have created handbooks and tools that can benefit the youth workers to create art activities for the young people in their own communities.

01.01.2023 / 31.12.2023

Poverty in Europe is higher than ever due to rising inflation, war in Ukraine and the young people are the most affected population within the EU population. According to Eurostat; in 2020, 24.2% of children (less than 18 years old) in the EU were at risk of poverty or social exclusion compared with 21.7% of adults. The poverty is rising in European countries constantly as youth workers, our role is to prevent that make the young people more resilient to these changes. In Spain, this ratio goes up to %35 according to the latest statistics. As 50.5% of children whose parents’ level of education was low were at risk of poverty compared with 7.7% of children whose parents’ level of education was high. The youth work’s role in this regard to promote more opportunities for young people to eliminate the inequalities derived from the poverty and lack of socio-economical situation.
Usually, the poverty is evaluated about the means that the person has according to the social exclusion criteria provided by EuroStat. Though, we would like to provide the framework called Capabilities Approach to evalute the wellbeing of the communities. Capabilities approach was developed by Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum in response to concerns that the dominant mode of measuring a nation’s wellbeing focused solely on economic growth, or on ‘happiness.’ A focus on “those things that intrinsically matter” (Sen, 1992) rather than the means to achieve them, recognises that freedom and agency are vital aspects of the achievement of social justice, but also highlights the specific inequalities experienced by certain groups due to class, gender, race or disability.

Within this training course, we made the youth workers aware about capability approach and increase their capacities on how to apply this framework in their daily work through a set of virtual and face to face activities. We increased the capacities of youth workers to implement the strategies and learn about how to tackle with poverty among the young people and provide opportunities for the well-being of youth. As poverty is one of the biggest issues among young people that leads to the unemployment, exclusion from the society and marginalization and radicalization.

Mobility of youth workers

NGOrganize - Herramientas por Organizaciones Juveniles
01.06.2022 / 31.01.2024

Youth work is a field which provides space and opportunities for young people to form their own futures. It has a extremely important role on encouraging young people to take initiatives and responsibilities for others towards to the issues that they find important. It as well provides a space for the young people to involve and shape the society beyond their individual interests. Youth sector is a place where most of us as youth workers working in different modalities : full time, part-time, periodical/seasonal workers or on a voluntary basis. Youth sector employs many people working as In Europe, we only find a few countries with well-established youth work policies and structures, governed by public authorities with paid youth workers, developed vocational training and higher education curricula for youth workers.

Thus, the youth work practices are basically goes through a traditional approach, due to its structures and involvement of highly grassroot mechanisms. With the increased number of youth projects through the Erasmus+ and different funding instruments, the youth organisations become one of the main element of the Civil Society Scene though still the spirit of grassroots and amateur nature of youth work continues where there is a high need of professionalism, standardization, and quality assurance work within the NGOs which became a necessity. Therefore, it created a demand for professional youth workers and related studies at universities to increase the quality of the youth work implemented in EU and its neighbouring countries.

Mobility of young people

01.06.2022 / 31.01.2024

Photography is one of the most powerful tools to change the perception of the people. The photos that we take and we see are incredibly powerful, and they play a huge role in shaping how we see the world and the people around us. Every day, we constantly see photos of people—in social media, on websites, on television, in advertisements, in print, and in our daily environment.

In many ways, the photos we see in the media have created our culture for us, and have defined the standards of who and what is supposedly good, normal, and valuable. However, the media is not as inclusive of everyone as it could be due to biases, prejudices, and stereotypes that have been passed down for generations. Because of this, the images we consume are not an accurate depiction of reality. Thus, it can be said that images that are not representative of everyone and that preserve the status quo are problematic because they perpetuate the inequalities of society. They can negatively affect how we see ourselves and our perceived worth if we don’t fit into the narrow “ideal” demographic that has been created for us.

01.01.2022 / 31.12.2022

Peace education encompasses the key concepts of education and peace. While it is possible to define education as a process of systematic institutionalized transmission of knowledge and skills, as well as of basic values and norms that are accepted in a certain society, the concept of peace is less clearly defined. Many writers make an important distinction between positive and negative peace. Negative peace is defined as the absence of large-scale physical violence–the absence of the condition of war. Positive peace involves the development of a society in which, except for the absence of direct violence, there is no structural violence or social injustice. Accordingly, peace education could be defined as an interdisciplinary area of education whose goal is institutionalized and noninstitutionalized teaching about peace and for peace. Peace education aims to help students acquire skills for nonviolent conflict resolution and to reinforce these skills for active and responsible action in society for the promotion of the values of peace. Therefore, unlike the concept of conflict resolution, which can be considered to be retroactive–trying to solve a conflict after it has already occurred–peace education has a more proactive approach. Its aim is to prevent a conflict in advance or rather to educate individuals and society for a peaceful existence on the basis of nonviolence, tolerance, equality, respect for differences, and social justice.

Artivism para la Solidaridad, Inclusión and Creatividad
01.01.2022 / 31.12.2023

ARTivistic : Artistic Approaches to Solidarity, Inclusion and Creativity in Europe

ARTivistic comes from a combination of Activistic and Art. Activistic defined as a person who disposed to take an action or effectuate change. Thus, our project wants to effectuate a change by qualifying youth workers as artivists and change-makers to work with the young people to address the social issues that society faces today. To do so and to boostcreativity, we wanted to use the methodology of divergent thinking which promotes and uses the methodology of thinking basically out of the box as the creativity needs. The project will address the issues, by using art tools and divergent thinking methodology during its process. During the project cycle, we will address four main topics ( social peace, poverty,unemployment and domestic violence ) become more visible during Covid-19 by using art and divergent thinking methodology.

Ni-Ni and Yo-Yo : Youth Trajectories and Dilemma of Social Welfare Systems in Southern Europe

Ni-Ni and Yo-Yo : Youth Trajectories and Dilemma of Social Welfare Systems in Southern Europe is one of its kind project involving the youth grassroots and youth experts to attempt to make change in the social welfare systems which is one of the root causes of the Ni-Ni and Yo-Yo youth trajectories. The project name comes from the both Ni-Ni by referring to the NEETs and drawback youth from the society and Yo-Yo by referring to the prolonged Youth and the repetitive trajectory between the state of being youth and state of being adult. The project aims to create an awareness on the root causes of these issues which is the Social Welfare system structure in the participating countries as it is widely discussed by the scholars. This issue is very well-known by the youth scholars although among the youth workers it is not discussed or advocated. We want to address these issues for the youth field to act towards to make a change and create a linkage between the youth policy research and the youth practitioners.
We aim to provide a road map for the youth NGOs for advocating the social rights of young people as well as increasing the capacities of youth NGOs in the way of the research with our project as even there are several projects focusing on the very issue of social rights concerning the young people and create an awareness on the issue of the social welfare system by focusing on four areas : housing, education, employment, health rights and participation of the young people.
